Goodbye is a dark comedy set in London’s first assisted dying clinic.
William Holloway, a doctor turned hospital administrator, arrives determined to end his life after years of failed suicide attempts and devastating personal loss. Instead, he meets Vivi, the clinic’s lively receptionist, whose motivational tattoos, passion for astrology and refusal to engage in small talk turn his carefully planned final day upside down.
What begins as a bureaucratic nightmare grows into an unexpected friendship — and perhaps something more. Both funny and deeply moving, Goodbye explores loneliness, human connection and the surprising reasons we choose to keep living. Following three sold-out seasons in Colombia, a run at the National Theatre of Colombia, the Audience Favourite Award at the ESO VI Awards, and publication by Planeta Editorial, Goodbye has sold more than 3,800 tickets and continues to attract full houses.
The play now makes its UK English-language premiere at Brixton House Housemates Festival in September 2026 before transferring to Ladbroke Hall in October 2026. For producer and adaptor Monica Lopera, bringing Goodbye to British audiences is both a personal and artistic milestone. Having lived in London for nearly 20 years, she believes Latin American stories belong on British stages—not as cultural curiosities, but as universal stories about love, loss and belonging.

Alejandra Chamorro Cuevas is a Colombian writer, actress and theatre-maker. She is the co-founder of Bogotá-based theatre collective Círculo Colectivo and has developed a distinctive voice that is witty, emotionally rich and deeply human across both theatre and film.
Monica Lopera is a Colombian actress, translator, adaptor and producer based in London. With more than 25 years of experience in film, television and theatre, she has built an international career across both English- and Spanish-language productions.
Her screen credits include The Hijacking of Flight 601 (Netflix), Killing Eve (BBC America), Borgia (Canal+), Green Frontier (Netflix), The Adventures of Paddington and Thomas & Friends. An award-winning performer, she is recognised as one of Latin America’s most versatile actresses.
Samuel Anderson is a British actor and producer from Birmingham who trained at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in London.
He originated the role of Crowther in Alan Bennett’s The History Boys, directed by Nicholas Hytner at the National Theatre. The production won the Olivier Award for Best New Play, the Tony Award for Best Play and six Tony Awards in total. Samuel later reprised the role on Broadway and on international tours to Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
