Join us for a screening of The Nut Farmer of Glastonbury, followed by a live conversation with director Elsa Kent, her father and farmer Andrew Kent, special guests, and a live music performance.
This quietly powerful 20-minute documentary follows Andrew as he steps away from forty years of conventional farming to begin again, planting thousands of hazelnut and walnut trees on the edge of Glastonbury. Directed and produced by his daughter, Elsa Kent, the film is a personal and unflinching portrait of resilience, legacy, and ecological restoration, as well as a wider reflection on what it takes to farm differently in the face of an uncertain future.
The film premiered to a packed audience at Groundswell Festival, the UK’s leading regenerative agriculture event, before making its London debut at The Duke Organic, Britain’s first organic pub. It has since been described by audiences as raw, honest, and hopeful, offering a window into what our relationship with the land could become.
After the screening, Elsa and Andrew will join us for a live discussion with special guests, sharing the story behind the film and opening up a conversation about courage, patience, and the future of British farming.
About the film
After forty years working the fields, a farmer on the edge of Glastonbury takes a radical leap into the unknown, planting nut trees: a slow, perennial crop rooted in patience, hope and faith in the future. Both deeply personal and quietly political, The Nut Farmer of Glastonbury offers an intimate portrait of one man’s transformation while imagining a future where food production and ecological restoration flourish together.
