Now You See Me! is the debut text by Charlene Prempeh exploring the achievements of Black Creatives across the globe whose designs have helped define key cultural moments and movements. Organised into three sections focusing on Fashion, Architecture and Graphic Design, Prempeh uses the pioneering work of key figures from the 20th and 21st century to explore important aspects of how Black design has been perceived within culture and society.
“White patriarchy has dominated design for decades and yet conversations delving into the privileges and respect denied to Black designers has only recently entered public consciousness. You‘ve seen their work–but have you seen them?” – Charlene Prempeh.
Join us for an evening of conversation and cocktails celebrating Black design.
Now You See Me! Released October 10th.
