The Strayhorns are a twelve-piece event band, that come together for special occasions, delivering an uplifting set of soul, RnB and jazz classics- from Al Green to Otis Redding, and Etta James to Tina Turner. For one night only they take over the Sunbeam Theatre at Ladbroke Hall for a summer party and performance, followed by a DJ and dancing.
They are a diverse group – including committed amateur musicians with day jobs in the media and the arts and professionals from west end musicals to experienced session musicians. They are united by a shared enthusiasm for music, performance and engagement with the arts and entertainment community. As the name suggests, the three-piece horn section sees a lot of action..
Their first album – Live at Ellen’s is in production.
