A two-day celebration of food, art, and design featuring exhibitions, workshops, live performances, talks, screenings, and a curated market with 50+ exhibitors. Sunbeam Theatre

Opening Hours

Saturday 2 – 10pm

Food Art Fair (FAF) is a two-day celebration of food as a language for creativity, communication and cultural exchange. Bringing together over 50 artists, designers, chefs, publishers and makers, the fair presents installations, edible works, publications, workshops and live performances that challenge how we think about food beyond consumption. Across Ladbroke Hall, visitors can discover an exciting exhibition of contemporary artists, browse a curated market of independent publications and objects, participate in hands-on workshops, attend talks and screenings, and enjoy a programme of performances throughout the weekend.

Highlights include a series of conceptual works by Gab Bois, sculptural artwork by Andrea Ferrero, edible artwork by Murder Cake, and a selection of food-related titles from Public Knowledge Books.

Whose Recipe? with Zijing Rie Ye
Like cooking? Card games? Democracy?
Whose Recipe? is a participatory cooking game where strangers come together to make sweet and sour pork without a fixed recipe. Rooted in Cantonese cooking and shaped by migration, the dish has become a familiar image of “Chinese food” in Britain, yet there’s little agreement on what it should actually taste or look like.

Draw cards, debate different instructions, and vote on what to follow, change or reject. Every decision shapes the dish, with everyone taking part in preparing and cooking the final meal. There’s no chef or single “correct” recipe, just cards, conversation, collective decisions and something to eat. Created by London-based Chinese artist Zijing Rie Ye, whose practice explores migration, cultural translation and authority through food, sculpture, moving image and participation. She holds an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art.

Nostalgia on the Tongue: Food Writing with Suyin Du Bois

Where can your tastebuds transport you? Explore how food can unlock memories, emotions and stories in this sensory food-writing workshop with poet Suyin Du Bois.

Read a selection of poems, snack on food for inspiration, and try relaxed writing exercises designed to explore the connection between taste, memory and language. Participants are welcome to share their work, but there’s no obligation, and all writing levels are welcome. Bring a favourite food or snack to inspire you, with additional snacks provided. Suyin Du Bois is a London-based poet of Chinese-Malaysian and Belgian heritage. Her debut pamphlet Eating Air (The Emma Press, 2026) explores food, memory, language and longing. She is an alumna of the Southbank Centre’s New Poets Collective.
