“With a wonderfully expressive voice and all the wit and charm of Wodehouse himself, Hal Cazalet makes for an enchanting entertainer.”– Sir Stephen Fry
“Hal Cazalet wins all hearts” – The Sunday Times
“Beguiling” – The New York Times
A Festive Homage to Laughter, Music, Romance and Glamour.
PG. Wodehouse once had a record-breaking five musicals playing simultaneously on Broadway. Today, his step-great grandson Hal Cazalet, along with pianist Simon Beck, transport us back to the Golden Age of stage and screen through stories and song, with a guest appearance from Lara Cazalet (Hal’s sister).
One of our greatest comic writers, ‘Plum’ Wodehouse once said he wrote his stories like ‘musical comedies, without the music.’
Between 1915-1935 his works not only defined the American musical, but informed the way he crafted his novels and characters.
Marking the 50th Anniversary year since the master of mirth left us for the Great Clubhouse in the sky, come join us in celebrating the birth of the American musical with theatrical highlights from the last 120 years featuring Gershwin, Kern, Rogers & Hammerstein, Noël Coward, Stephen Sondheim and many more.
