Artist talk 7-8pm

General Admission £10 | Complimentary for Patrons

Carpenters Workshop Jewellery and Ladbroke Hall are pleased to present an artist talk with Alice Ciccolini and Ane Christensen, moderated by Melanie Grant. The talk will explore each of the artist’s practices and inspiration behind their work.

Alice Cicolini is a London-based jewellery designer, author, curator, and creative commissioner known for blending ancient craft traditions with modern design. Her work is particularly inspired by sacred architecture, the Silk Route, Indian adornment rituals and the enamel traditions of Jaipur. Many pieces are hand‐enamelled in India with master craftsmen, and she juxtaposes traditional motifs and techniques with contemporary form. She has exhibitied in international institutions including the V&A in London and Sotheby’s.

Ane Christensen is a Danish‐born metal artist and silversmith based in East London, whose work explores contrast, form, and traditional metalworking techniques. She often begins with simple bowl‐forms or flat sheets of metal, then transforms them using techniques like hand piercing, soldering, drilling, and combining metals. Through this technique, Christensen is able to bring both balance and and tension to her work while also embracing sculputral forms.

Melanie Grant is a British journalist, editor, curator and commentator specialising in jewellery, luxury, sustainability and the cross‐over between art and adornment. With over 20 years experience in journalism, she has curated numerous exhibitions and spoken at major international institutions. Her new book The Jewelery Book, published by Phaidon, is available now.
