THESP founder Gilly Hopper will be in conversation with stage and film director Carrie Cracknell at the Sunbeam Theatre on Tuesday 21 May. Join us as Carrie discusses her creative process, good storytelling, and transitioning from stage to screen, sharing personal insights into her career thus far as well as her ambitions for the future.
Carrie Cracknell’s stage credits span London to New York. Most recently, she directed a major revival of Marina Carr’s Portia Coughlan for the Almeida Theatre starring Alison Oliver. A regular collaborator with the National Theatre, memorable productions include Medea, The Deep Blue Sea, and Julie. In the US, her production of Sea Wall/ A Life starring Jake Gyllenhaal was nominated for four Tony Awards.
Carrie’s debut feature, Persuasion starring Dakota Johnson premiered on Netflix in 2022; she currently has two further feature films in development.
