Nigerianborn, MOBOnominated, UKbased composer, guitarist and vocalist, well known for his work with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Dee Dee Bridgewater, The Roots and Soweto Kinch returns to Ladbroke Hall with his latest project featuring all star 5piece band. Reflecting on his music, Femi describes it as a journey of cultural exploration—deeply rooted in his Nigerian heritage, yet shaped by his experience of growing up and living in the UK. His work bridges these two worlds, offering a unique perspective as someone born in Nigeria but shaped by British culture.

A significant early milestone in Femi’s career came in 2002, when he was invited by acclaimed jazz saxophonist and UK hip hop artist Soweto Kinch to join his newly formed quartet. Their collaboration was a major success, earning a Mercury Music Prize nomination, a BBC Jazz Award for Best New Group, and several MOBO Award nominations. Femi’s slick, melodic guitar style has made him a sought-after musician across genres. He has performed and recorded with an impressive array of artists, including George Benson, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Courtney Pine, The Roots, Omar, Roachford, Amy Winehouse, Jason Rebello, Eska Mtungwazi, Terri Walker, Jean Toussaint, Don Blackman, Michal Urbaniak, and many more.
