Carpenters Workshop Gallery presents Bad Ideas for Good Living, a solo exhibition by Rotterdam-based artist collective Atelier Van Lieshout, in London. The show opens alongside a new book of the same name. Spread across the gallery, Prouvé House, and the gardens of Ladbroke Hall, the exhibition acts as a self-portrait exploring our primal nature and the human search for a better world.

The show reflects the founding ideas behind Atelier Van Lieshout – highlighting the links between humans and nature, especially our shared instincts to survive, control, and dream of utopia.

This exhibition builds on their recent project The Voyage: A March to Utopia, which featured large-scale sculptures stretching across Art Basel’s Unlimited in 2025. Continuing that theme, the new works explore human desires, invention, and visions of alternative futures.
