Byatt, Isak Dinisen, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Brendan Kennelly, evoke the deep, vast, wild, mysterious, unknowable power and majesty of nature.

WORDTheatre Founder and Artistic Director, Cedering Fox, has curated this evening in support of OCEAN RISING, an initiative that encourages the public to engage with  the ocean through cultural initiatives and innovative events. Established by Schmidt Ocean Institute and Nekton, it aims to integrate the ocean seamlessly into the fabric of everyday life – igniting curiosity for our undersea world and cultivating a global community dedicated to the celebration and protection of our ocean.

You’ll also hear from Oliver Steeds, OBE, the Chief Executive and Founder of Nekton. Oceanographer and critically acclaimed broadcast journalist formerly with ABC, NBC, Channel 4, Discovery Channels and others, Steeds was awarded the OBE in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his services to Research and Conservation of the Marine Environment.
